Volunteers

Clinical trial volunteers have a critical role in helping to advance the treatment and understanding of many diseases and their complications. Participation in research studies has been instrumental in providing information for the development of new medications and treatments for others with similar conditions. Our research team recruits patients in order to learn more about the nature of certain medical conditions and the usefulness of new treatments. These clinical trials are studies where patients are needed to test the effectiveness of new drugs, devices and other treatments that may then be approved for general use. Individuals who participate in any research study must meet certain inclusion and exclusion criteria depending on the study and be willing to sign an informed consent. An informed consent is defined as voluntary consent given by the person stating they are willing to participate in the study after being informed of the methods, procedures, risks and benefits that will result from participating. Informed consent must be given voluntarily without any influence and may be withdrawn at any time during the study. There are many clinical trial opportunities available to patients at the Sleep and Behavior Medicine Institute. To learn more about our current studies see the “current trials” tab. If you are interested in participating or would like your information to be entered into our patient database for future trials, please complete the form below or you can call 847-984-6585 and speak to a research coordinator about your possible participation. NOTE: All of our studies require face-to-face examinations and meetings with our staff, therefore we are seeking volunteers that reside near our site in Vernon Hills, IL. |
